Jan Sehat Setu – Integrated Health Camp Management Platform

A unified digital healthcare ecosystem connecting hospitals, doctors, patients, and volunteers for nationwide free health camps.

Jan Sehat Setu ("people's health bridge") is a single digital platform that connects everyone involved in a free health camp: the hospital that organises it, the doctors who treat patients, the volunteers who run the desk, and the patients who need care. Vishwa Kalyan Bharati wanted to run free health camps every month, across many hospitals and locations, without the paperwork and phone calls that usually come with them. Steigern Tech designed and built the full platform: a web panel for hospitals, a public website, and three mobile apps for patients, doctors and volunteers. All work on one shared backend, so a camp created by a hospital appears instantly for patients to book, for doctors to attend and for volunteers to join. Formally launched by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.

Free Health Camps Do Enormous Good, But Are Hard To Run Well

Free health camps do enormous good, but they are hard to run well. Before Jan Sehat Setu, camps were announced through posters, WhatsApp forwards and word of mouth so many people who needed a screening never knew it was happening; patients turned up without appointments, waited for hours and were sometimes turned away when capacity ran out; doctors worked from handwritten slips that were hard to find later; volunteers were coordinated by phone without simple duty applications or recognition; hospitals managed each camp in its own spreadsheet without a single view of camps, patients, or doctors; and mothers booking for children and elderly parents had to register each person separately in chaos at the camp.

Legacy Constraints: The NGO needed a platform simple enough for first-time smartphone users, yet strong enough to run camps at scale across hospitals and cities.
Identified Bottlenecks:
Patients didn't hear about camps in time: Camps were announced through posters, WhatsApp forwards, and word of mouth. Many people who needed a screening never knew it was happening.
No booking, only queues: Patients turned up without appointments, waited for hours, and were sometimes turned away when capacity ran out.
Doctors worked from paper: Patient details were written by hand at the desk and passed along on slips. Records were hard to find later and almost impossible to follow up.
Volunteers were coordinated by phone: NGO volunteers had no simple way to see which camps needed help, apply for duty, or get recognition for their time.
Hospitals had no single view: Each camp lived in its own spreadsheet. Nobody could see total camps, patients served, doctors involved, or partner hospitals at a glance.
Families were managed one by one: A mother booking for her children and parents had to register each person separately, often at the camp itself.
Steigern Architectural Solution

One Platform With Five Connected Touchpoints

We built Jan Sehat Setu as one platform with five connected touchpoints. Each user gets exactly the tools they need, and everything stays in sync. Steigern Tech designed and built the full platform: a web panel for hospitals, a public website, and three mobile apps for patients, doctors and volunteers. All of them work on one shared backend, so a camp created by a hospital appears instantly for patients to book, for doctors to attend and for volunteers to join.

Architectural Highlights:
Simple first: Large buttons, clear icons, and a short booking flow (login → OTP → choose camp → book → token) so that anyone can use it.
One brand, three apps: The saffron, green, and indigo palette from the Jan Sehat Setu logo runs through every screen for instant stakeholder recognition.
Role-based access: Each app shows only what its user needs: patients never see admin tools; doctors only see their linked hospital's camps.
Privacy by default: Patient phone numbers and medical records are visible only to the hospital and doctors linked to that camp.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE WORKFLOW

Execution Architecture & System Flow

The end-to-end technical and operational workflow engineered for Vishwa Kalyan Bharati (NGO).

STEP 01

Hospital Camp Creation & Doctor Linking

The hospital publishes a camp from the web panel with date, time, location, eligibility (age and gender), and patient capacity, then assigns verified doctors and approves doctor requests.

STEP 02

Public Web & Patient App Booking

Patients discover upcoming camps nearby and book slots for themselves or family members with OTP login, receiving an instant digital token (e.g. HVC-260001).

STEP 03

Volunteer Duty Dispatch & Approval

NGO volunteers discover camps needing assistance, request duty with one tap, and get approved by the hospital coordinator.

STEP 04

Doctor Live Queue & Paperless Consultations

Doctors see the live patient queue in token order on their phone, consult patients, and document consultation records ready for follow-up.

STEP 05

Attendance, Reviews, Gallery & Certificates

Results flow back to the hospital: attendance, consultation records, camp photo galleries, patient reviews, and automated digital certificates of appreciation.
